Warmth, from the floor up.

The floor sets the tone before the rest of a room is noticed. This bedroom pairs warm brown hardwood with light walls and a white upholstered bed. Seen from the doorway, the run of boards makes the floor a continuous part of the room.
Letting the material lead
The variation between boards is part of the finished appearance. Some read darker, some lighter, and the grain creates movement across the floor. The surrounding palette is quiet enough to let those differences show.
A photograph is a useful starting point for color and character, but it is not a specification. When planning your own floor, look at physical samples in the room during the day and in evening light before choosing a finish.
The edges deserve the same attention
A flooring proposal should account for more than the open area of a room. Doorways, adjacent flooring, baseboards and furniture all affect how the job is planned and how the finished space feels.
Cairn's flooring team can review those transitions along with the existing floor and subfloor at the site visit. Product selection, preparation and any repair work belong in the scope before installation starts. That makes the finish you see and the work beneath it part of the same conversation.
For your own home
Before you begin
- Compare samples beside the existing trim and neighboring floors.
- Ask which preparation and subfloor repairs are included in the proposal.
- Plan furniture moving, access and room use around the installation.
